Stephen graduated in 1994 and took up a Trainee Embryologist post at the University of Bristol. In 2002 he joined the team at Newcastle Fertility Centre as Andrology Laboratory Manager and Senior Embryologist. In 2009 he joined the team at Cambridge IVF as Lead Embryologist and designed and oversaw the build of the Cambridge IVF facility. He took on the role of Consultant Embryologist and Person Responsible for Cambridge IVF in November 2014. Stephen is the former Chair of ACE and the ABA and is the current Treasurer of the international organisation ALPHA Scientists in Reproductive Medicine. He has been actively involved in authorship of national best practice guidelines and quality standards over the last decade. Stephen’s current research interests include advanced sperm selection and preparation, process automation and clinical applications of ultra-high power microscopy.
